BK Menu Items

By: Kristen Zeimetz

Note: I worked at BK (Burger King) for one year in high school and honestly haven’t eaten there all that much since then, so I haven’t the slightest clue what they really have to offer now.

Rodeo Burger

I had a sick obsession with these. Almost as crazy as my McChicken craze. Rodeo Burgers were a cheeseburger topped with onion rings and BBQ sauce. No more, no less. Sometimes you would get a healthy amount of rings and sauce. Sometimes you’d get one and a squirt. Either way, they were 99¢. Not sure if they are still a menu item, but I bet they are probably close to $3 ow. These always made me happy. B+

Chicken Nuggets/Tenders

The BK Chicken Tenders are definitely something I didn’t appreciate enough when they were around. Compared to today’s nuggets, which taste like they are tossed in a seasoning of foot powder, the tenders were really underrated/ That being said, I ate the nuggets daily as my “pre-dinner” after work because you got 10 for 99¢. Bring back the Tenders!

Whopper

You can NEVER make me hate the Whopper. Even when it has sat under a heat lamp for two hours or more, it is the perfect fast food burger. I don’t need to have them dick around and make it “my way”. The way it is presented is just great, even when it’s a sloppy mess. A

Extreme Double Cheeseburger

This was a specialty item that was only offered I believe for one short time in the early 2000s. IT was a double Whopper with several different cheeses (American, Cheddar, Swiss (possibly?)) and had this cheese sauce that I would eat off a fresh turd, it was so damn good. Sometimes I wonder if it never actually existed because no one seems to remember it, but I do. I’ll never forget you, Extreme Double Cheeseburger, especially for how much weight you made me gain. A+

Original Chicken Sandwich

I love these. Boom. Perfection. They are elongated, so you think you are getting a much bigger sandwich, but it didn’t fool me. I’ll still pound down two like they are a slider. Unfortunately, I wish you could still get them BOGO like in the good ol’ days. But BK was always good for tossing you a 2/$4 coupon on these bad boys. My only wish is for them to bring back to the “French” variety they had in the 90s, topped with mayo, Swiss, and ham. A
