Lay's Chips Flavors

By: Kristen Zeimetz

India’s Magic Masala

This specific bag is from India, and I’m not sure exactly what Masala is (a pepper of some kind, I presume). These are pretty tasty. They have a strong, smoky flavor, and they aren’t too spicy. The chip itself is really thick. It’s a pleasant surprise! I’m assuming this is a tame flavor compared to others I’ll be trying, but very good nonetheless. B+

West Indies’ Hot ‘n’ Sweet Chili

Again, another Indian variety, and I’l like to point out they go all out on their chips. The bags are FILLED and the bag is thick, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally popping open the bag. I LOVE sweet and hot together, and these chips don’t disappoint. They aren’t hot on the tongue, but you feel it in your throat, and, like the Magic Masala ones, they were thick and crispy chips. Maybe because they are ridges? Or maybe India is just that good at their chip game. A-

Chili Limon

Another Indian flavor and this one is bleh to me. I’m not a fan of lime. Lime in candy or soda, I’m all in for, but in savory food, it’s just bleh. And that’s the case with these chips. Chip quality is great. Flavor is trash. D-

Tzatziki

Ok, this flavor was not part of my “chips of the world” pack, but regular Lay’s from the dollar store. These are very good. I’m a big fan of tzatziki and they taste like the real deal. It should be noted, though, that the American Lay’s chip quality is not nearly as good as the ones from India. These ones were your basic flimsy potato chips compared to the thick and super crunchy Indian chips. Overall, a good tasting chip. B
