So, Amanda gifted me with a box of Turkish snacks to rate! I’ve always wanted to try treats from other countries! And here we go!
This one looks pretty promising, but it wasn’t all that great. By all accounts, it’s basically a Twix bar (a lot of them seem to be chocolate and caramel), but the flavors just weren’t there. The cookie didn’t have the crunch and the caramel didn’t have enough chew. It wasn’t terrible, but definitely not memorable. C-
Now THIS one looked and sounded like it would be terrible, though the packaging was amusing. It’s a shortbread “pie” crust with orange jelly and chocolate jimmies on top, but surprisingly it was really good! I’m a fan of those Terry’s chocolate oranges and this reminded me of it, but better. A pleasant surprise! B-
I would say this one was hot garbage because the package was already opened and perhaps it got stale, but I don’t believe that was the case. They are supposed to be pizza flavored goldfish shaped crackers, but they tasted like literally nothing. Big disappointment. F
I was excited thinking these would be mini since they came in a tube like M&M's Minis, but they were full sized. You got quite a bit in the tube. At first, they tasted rather blah, but after a bit they grew on me. The chocolate wasn’t terrible; it had a nice, thick shell and the colors were rather pretty, like a combo of regular and Easter colors. Overall, I’d smash. B
These are your basic run of the mill Pocky sticks. Nothing special, but not bad either. The chocolate on them was nice and thick, it didn’t taste cheap, and you got a lot in the package. This wouldn’t be the first snack I’d grab, however. C
